The New York University men's soccer team posted its fourth consecutive win, defeating Baruch 1-0 on Monday night, at the Metropolitan Oval in Maspeth, Queens.

Freshman Branden Neal (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) scored the game's only goal in the 20th minute. He took a cross from fellow freshman Devin Freeman-Roche (Putnam Valley, NY/Iona Prep) and shot it past junior goalkeeper Peter Resvanis (Queens, NY/St. Francis Prep).

NYU (4-1) outshot Baruch 16-6 in the non-conference contest. Resvanis, the current CUNYAC Soccer Player of the Week, totaled five saves for Baruch (1-3).

Baruch made a strong offensive push late in the contest, but had one of their best opportunities of the evening blocked during an intense rally.

Junior defender Thomas Louisy (Groslet, St. Lucia/Sir Ira Simmons) fired a hard shot from the top of the box, but the ball met a wall of NYU defenders to preserve the victory.

Baruch will open the CUNYAC portion of their schedule this upcoming Wednesday against rival Hunter at the Met Oval. Kick off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
